THE ABC'S OF BUYING A HOME
A) Choose Seattle Home Girl as your Buyer’s Agent.
Seattle Home Girl is a REALTOR® and abides by the REALTOR® Code of Ethics. Not all Real Estate Agents are members of the National Association of Realtors. There is a difference! A REALTOR® is client focused, has pledged to act in the best interest of the client and has access to a wealth of resources provided by the association.
Seattle Home Girl is out in the field and not chained to her desk. Amy spends her time previewing homes for you and has real life knowledge of what is out there! When you decide it’s time to start looking for a home, most people will search the MLS via the Internet. This is great! The Internet has become a vital part of the home buying process for buyers and their agents. However, the Internet is often a bit behind in the Seattle marketplace (at least 24 hours behind the NWMLS database that agents use), and by the time Buyer’s send the listing to their agent or call on it themselves, the house has already sold! Seattle Home Girl stays on top of new listings, price drops, and listings that are back on the market to a failed sale. Working with Seattle Home Girl guarantees you an efficient and effective home buying experience.

B) Get Pre-approved
Call a lender or mortgage broker. Find out exactly what you are approved for. This will save you time and energy. In the Seattle market, most offers will not be accepted without a pre-approval letter from your lender.
Keep your debt to a minimum. Don't make major purchases or incur any additional debt until after you buy a home. Don't apply for new credit cards. Remember, financial institutions evaluate your financial situation on your gross monthly income. Find out more about your credit report and FICO scores.
C) Know what you want and go get it!
Why are you buying? What do you want for yourself and your life? Are you a house person or a condo person? Is location more important? What about your commute? What about having a view? Do you like new construction or old Seattle charm? Who will be living in the home?
Be prepared to view new properties quickly. Sometimes homes sell quickly, so be ready to make fast decisions. Be accessible for possible counter-offers. Stay in communication with your agent.
